Fifty five Chapter volunteers, including guests from the Vancouver Island Chapter gathered on August 27th to share in this celebration event. In recognition of the volunteers our special guest Gene Vickers, Distinguished Toast Master and Toast Master mentor to our CWCC PMI Vancouver Toastmaster Club, addressed the volunteers with a motivational message and toasted their dedication and for "taking their first step".
It was a great pleasure for me to be responsible for organizing and planning such an important event. The event was intended to honour and thank the many volunteers for their dedication, time and effort in continuing to grow themselves and to make the chapter even more successful during the past year than the previous year.
We had a total of 55 volunteers join the captain and his crew for a beautiful and scenic 3 hour boat cruise where everyone enjoyed a wonderful dinner, served on the main deck in a cozy and spacious setting with music playing in the background, in celebration of the many accomplishments of our ever growing team.
The weather remained warm with only a slight breeze and the evening could not have been more spectacular for this opportunity to spend a short while celebrating the individual dynamics that makes each of us a integral part of the whole volunteer team.
I would like to thank Rod Zedan, Amrik Singh and John Horodyski for their support pre-event and on the night of. A huge thank you to Jennifer Clarke for handling the registration activities and all aspects of the name badges together with Jane Wu for greeting the guests as they boarded the vessel. Many thanks also to Zdenko (Zed) Erceg and Tanya Kalamar for photographing the event. And last but certainly not least, this wonderful event would not have been the success it was without the planning and diligence of Irene Aldrich. Thank you Irene.
