The professional Development (PD) Track/Portfolio focuses on creating member value by providing for continuous professional development activities; enabling certified individual’s opportunities to grow beyond certification, but also have a venue in which to build PDUs in maintaining certification. Additionally, to provide venues that provide for overall development among PM professionals.
Objective of the PD track is to provide value by:
- Delivering up to 6 formal education opportunities a year that enable local chapter members with tools and knowledge in the pursuit of continuously developing project management skills
- Enabling 5-7 PDU opportunities for certified members to retain their certification status by attaining required PDU’s
- Enabling opportunities for the local project management community to acquire the tools to better execute and manage initiatives within a project organizations
Opportunities can be in the form of:
- Internal membership delivered events; locally
- Externally delivered events (workshops, seminars, conventions); locally
- Providing access / information on non local events and opportunities geared toward PM Professional Development as well as non local PMI sponsored PD events and opportunities
The PD will complement the Certification, Programs, and Mentorship tracks by integrating and leveraging planning and promotion efforts.
Like the Certification and Mentorship tracks, PD falls under the Education umbrella of the Canadian West Coast Chapter (CWCC).
