MENTORSHIP

PMI CWCC Third Mentorship Intake Workshop on February 25
In January and February, there will be several key activities leading up to the chapter's Third Mentorship Intake Workshop on February 25th. We are accepting applications today, but hurry, as there is a limit of 15 mentor-protégé pairs! Remember, you earn PDUs for participating in the information session and in the mentorship program!

Keep the following dates in your calendar if you are interested in mentoring from February through June 2009.

February 4: At 6:30 pm, join us for an information session at the Downtown YWCA, MacMillian Bloedel room. What is mentoring all about? You will learn about the program, meet a panel of past participants, hear their personal mentorship experiences, and have an opportunity to sign up for upcoming 2009 mentorship intakes. Official applications are being accepted for this Mentorship Intake (February - June). Refreshments will be available. Earn 1 PDU.

February 25: 6:30 pm. The third Mentorship Intake Kickoff and Matching workshop. This workshop is mandatory for all accepted applicants. They will come together to meet one another, share the protégé's goals, review the mentor's bio and experience, and identify potential mentorship matches. Earn 3 PDUs.

For those who are in the current second Mentorship Intake, started Sept 2008, here are a couple of events that you will be invited to:

January 27: At 6:00 pm an informal after-work social is scheduled for mentors to meet other mentors. Watch for the email invitation, which will be sent to past and current mentors, as well as to upcoming mentors who apply for the February 2009 Intake.

February 11: 6:30 pm. This is the second and final informal meeting of last fall's 2008 mentorship intake participants, who will share their experiences and provide feedback to the mentorship team. This meeting will be held at the Vancouver Public Library - Central Branch. Current participants, please watch for the email invitation. Earn 1 PDU.

Those who have already decided to participate in the February 2009 Mentorship Intake, can apply directly online here: Mentorship Application for Feb 2009 Intake

While we make every effort to match mentors with protégés, if we have a mismatch in the number of pairings available, or the needs of either party are not met by any of the potential candidates, there is a chance that you will not be matched on February 25th. In this case, we will keep your application on file and we encourage you to re-apply to be included in the September 2009 intake.

For additional information on the PMI CWCC Mentorship Program, to read about the first two mentorship intakes, and to see an interview with a past mentor-protégé pair follow the link: More Information

Your questions about mentorship are always welcome. Please send an email to mentorship@pmi.bc.ca
