Alex Hamer BA, PMP
President


Area of Responsibility: Call and preside over all meetings; direct the activities of the other officers; appoint Nominating Committee members 90 days prior to the AGM; appoint Board members to vacant positions subject to the Board’s approval; appoint Committees and Committee Chairs on a project or task basis. Overall responsibility of the Chapter, Chapter membership and to PMI GOC for Chapter’s operations.



Career Snapshot: Alex has over twelve years experience in senior IT leadership, project management, operations management and systems analysis & programming. He is presently Director, Information Services Development at the TU Group. Previous experience includes Project Manager at the TU Group; Project & Operations Manager at The Ad Wizard; IT Systems Analyst at British Telecom (Global Services); Project Lead at Endeavour Group; Coordinator, Technical Operations at Woodbine Entertainment; and Sales Associate, at iSTAR.

Formal Education: Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree from Queen's University; a Post-Graduate Diploma, Humber College; and a qualification in Project Management from The Open University.

Crispin Wye, MSc, PMP

Area of Responsibility: Responsible for safeguarding and advocating the interests of Chapter members.

 


CrispinWye.JPG Career Snapshot: Crispin has more than 15 years experience working in the scientific R&D field, the last 9 years working in project management at various Vancouver-based biotechnology companies. He has worked on projects across all stages of pharmaceutical development - research to preclinical and clinical, and in various therapeutic areas such as ophthalmology, oncology and dermatology.

Formal Education: Master of Science in Biotechnology from De Monfort University, Leicester, UK and Bachelor of Science from Imperial College, London, UK.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rafah Tello BEng, PMP, RMP
Vice-President Programs


Area of Responsibility: Responsible for maintaining a series of monthly meetings.


Career Snapshot: Rafah has project management experience in both local and international projects. She is presently involved in project management and scheduling for the Olympic Village Project. Previous experience includes project management for a real estate development company that constructs and markets large residential and commercial projects and coordinator for an architectural and interior design company specializing in space planning for commercial and hospitality projects.

Formal Education: Rafah holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electronics from Damascus University, Syria.
 

 

 

 

Krishna Kumar MBA, PMP
Vice-President Education


Area of Responsibility: Responsible for the education and certification of Chapter members.



Career Snapshot: Krishna is an independent consultant with over 20 years of experience in delivering projects in a wide range of industries including IT, wholesale, retail, supply chain, logistics, health and shipping. He has been involved in projects at Business Objects, PHSA, and TELUS. Krishna has expertise in Business Process Management (BPM), Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), process improvement, systems integration, workflow design, process modeling, quality assurance, software development, estimating and vendor relationships.

Formal Education: Krishna holds an MBA and is certified in the areas of Systems Audit (CISA) and Information Security (CISM).

 

 

  

 

 

Richard Brodowski PMP
Vice-President Careers

Area of Responsibility: Overall responsibility and accountability for direction and operations of Career Path portfolio which includes; the Chapter Job Board, Career Fair, and Marketing PMI Career Board to Job Seekers and Employers


Career Snapshot: Richard Brodowski has over 16 years experience in project management that has covered nearly 250 engineering and 100 IT projects. He is currently the Director, Olympic PMO for Bell Canada. Richard is a past member of Calgary, Alberta’s Project Office Leadership Roundtable; has been a guest lecturer at Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary; presenter and expert panel member, ProjectWorld Vancouver and Toronto; and was the recipient of PMI (Southern Alberta Chapter) Project Management Excellence Award – Individual (2005).

Formal Education: Richard has a Diploma in Engineering Technology from Lethbridge College, Alberta and is a Registered Engineering Technologist.

 

 

 

 

 

Andrzej Nawrocki, MSc, CEng,  PMP
Vice-President Professional Development


Area of Responsibility: Responsible for Professional Development of Chapter’s Certified Members.

Career Snapshot: Andrzej has more than 20 years experience in project management including electronics and mechanical designs, software and firmware development and over 10 years experience in developing and improving design and development methodologies for the automation and control systems industry. Before moving to Canada he worked as a clinical scientist in major teaching hospitals in London. Andrzej has been Chartered Engineer since 1995.

Formal Education: Andrzej holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Lódź, Poland and a Diploma in Management Skills for Advanced Technology (MSAT) from SFU, Canada.
 

 

 

 

 

Ronald Manson BSc, PMP
Vice-President Communications


Area of Responsibility: VP Communications is responsible for delivering and maintaining the technologies and services that support communication with existing and potential members
.

Career Snapshot: Ron has held technical positions in semiconductor design, and supercomputer systems software. He has been a functional manager at Director and VP levels in a variety of software, hardware and service businesses. Most recently his rôle has been project manager. His PM experience involves some of the major names in the healthcare world - IDX, GE, Cerner – and includes five years on the world’s largest civilian IT project.

Formal Education: Degree with Honours in Computer Science from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner.
 

 

 

 

 

 

Gino Morena PMP
Vice-President Volunteers

Area of Responsibility: Gino Morena is responsible for Chapter volunteers.



Career Snapshot: Gino has extensive experience in project management of commercial software development as well as internal application development, customization and implementation. In the past he has been led and managed worldwide teams and specializes in saving troubled projects. He is currently Director, Strategic and Channel Partnerships for JustSystems Inc. and was previously employed by Business Objects as a Senior World Wide Manager for customer and technical support.

Formal Education: Gino is a registered Project Management Professional (PMP) and has completed a wide range of management training courses.
 

 

 

 

 

 

Zdenko Erceg BSc(Eng), PMP

Area of Responsibility: Responsible for Chapter publications, branding, sponsorship and promotion of the Chapter and Chapter events.


Career Snapshot:  Zdenko has more than 29 years of engineering and consulting experience in the public and private sectors. He has led project management initiatives that capitalize on sound project management practices, business process redesign, business transformation and emerging technologies. As a project manager, Zdenko has managed consulting services in the health care industry, telecommunications, and the process control industry. Zdenko has recently consulted in Telus and in the IMIT of the BC Provincial Health Services Authority.

Formal Education: Zdenko holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree from the University of Belgrade. He is also a Certified Project Manager from UBC and is a registered Project Management Professional (PMP).

 

 

 

 

 

Vijay Ranganathan BEng, PMP, RMP

Past President


Area of Responsibility: The past president's area of responsibilities are chairing the Nominating Committee responsible for preparing the slate of officers for the succeeding years and also supervising preparations and conducting of any special projects, seminars or meetings, or liaising with any project manager appointed for a specific project, which the Chapter decides to undertake.
 

Vijay
Career Snapshot: An engineer by qualification, Vijay combines many years of experience in international banking and finance with project management skills. He has worked in India, Germany and London, UK. His experience includes working in ERP and CRM applications and the management of large projects of multi-year duration. At present he is working as a Project Manager for Temenos Americas, a leading banking software company. A member of CWCC since 2002, Vijay joined as a volunteer in 2006 and has served as a volunteer leader in different positions such as Director in the Finance portfolio, Vice-president of Finance, and President Elect. He was certified as a PMP in 2003, and in 2009 he received his RMP certification.

Formal Education: Vijay holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the National Institute of Technology, Trichy, India.
 

Vivian Chi, PMP

Career Snapshot: Vivian has over 10 years of experience in information systems, project management and financial reporting. She is presently Financial Systems Manager at CHC
Helicopter. Previous experience includes Senior Consultant at TP Systems Ltd.; Business Analyst at StemSoft Software Inc.; Professional Services Consultant at F9; and Financial Systems Analyst at Syscon Justice Systems Ltd.

Formal Education: Vivian holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of British Columbia; a Certified General Accountant designation; and a Project Management Professional certification.
